Ducks Unlimited

Posted: Updated:

North Dakota is home to many ducks, and the folks at Ducks Unlimited hope to keep it that way.

The Souris River Valley group raised over 100 thousand dollars last year ranking them as the 45th most active chapter in the nation.

Altogether Ducks Unlimited has 5 thousand separate chapters,

meaning those from Minot compete with some enormous cities for the top titles.

Local chairman Jon Voteva says he enjoyed the outdoors since he was three years old.

(Jon Voteva, Souris River Valley Ducks Unlimited Co-Chairman) "I was raised in a family that loves the outdoors, and it's part of my passion. If I can give anything back to Ducks Unlimited or the outdoors in anyway that's why I do it."

The money raised by Ducks Unlimited goes to research that will help secure habitats all around North Dakota.
