Around Town: 40 Years of History Comes to Life

The worst kept secret is out.

A man with a love for the past and restoration is bringing one legendary restaurant back to life.

Steph Scheurer takes us inside 40 years of history in this week's Around Town.

East 40 restaurant will stay open as Dale Zimmerman transitions it into 40 Steak + Seafood.

The name pays respect to the 40 years of history you will see throughout the different themed dining rooms.

"We also wanted to bring about a change to tell everyone that it's not the East 40 of old, but it's something new, something more contemporary, something more up-to-date. We wanted to tell everyone without making major changes that it's a new menu," says Dale Zimmerman, Owner, 40.

Zimmerman says menu prices will go down and the quality of food will go up.

Fresh seafood everyday and no more microwaves.

Renovations began a month ago with new wood and marble floors, paint, led lighting, and fireplaces.

A new bar will be the first to offer wine on tap in North Dakota, as well as 32 tap beers.

Zimmerman says to expect a re-launch of the new restaurant the 3rd week of May.

From salty to sweet we take you to the colorful Orange Leaf Yogurt.

"We knew that we had to have a great seating area and a great environment that people would want to come in and check us out," says Jenelle Bortke, Owner, Orange Leaf Yogurt.

They opened April 15 and offer self-serve frozen yogurt in all kinds of flavors, endless toppings, and smoothies.

The yogurt is made fresh with fat free milk and dairy free options are also available.

Located next to Orange Leaf is Batteries + Bulbs.

They opened April 14.

"We have a wide range of batteries, wide range of light bulbs. We have accessories. You know, we're going to be the battery and light bulb expert in the area," says Bill Condon, Owner, Batteries + Bulbs.

They can also install and test your batteries.

Batteries Plus Bulbs also has a tech center.

They offer device repair for cell phones, iPods, and tablets.
