Five people where hurt when an explosion rocked a bonfire in southeast Minot over the weekend and a local man has been charged with a crime in the incident.
Ward County Sheriff's Department and Minot Police investigators say someone tossed a shock absorber from a vehicle into a bonfire on the 1800 block of 35th Avenue Southeast on Saturday night.
The cylinder exploded, injuring five people.
Four of the five are still hospitalized, some with serious injuries.
Today, investigators arrested 19-year-old Weston Mattison of Minot and charged him with a felony count of Endangerment by Fire-Explosion.
No court date has been set yet.
The names of the people injured have not been released.
