Student Spotlight --- Rugby

Posted: Updated:

She hopes to travel and do scientific research someday.

Let's meet Amber Jaeger - the top graduate at Rugby in tonight's Student Spotlight.

(Amber Jaeger, Rugby Senior) "I think the teachers have really helped me do my best and from I was a freshman or even junior high they've really helped getting us to do what we need to do in order to succeed and they've pushed us really hard which, at the time, didn't seem like it was a very fun thing to do but now that I'm older I really appreciate what they've done for us. My favorite is definitely all the science classes. I've taken physical science, biology, genetics, chemistry, and physics. Ms. Hagen is probably my favorite teacher - she's the one from freshman year that pushed me to be so hard working. I'm involved in a lot. The main things would be FFA, student council, honor society, science olympiad. Those would probably be the biggest things I'm in but I'm in a lot of other groups too. I plan to go to University of Minnesota at the Twin Cities and I want to major in anthropology and genetics. They have a lot of research opportunities which I want to study abroad and they had really good opportunities for that so that's one of the main reasons."

Congratulations to Amber, the valedictorian at Rugby High School this year.

Here's a list of the honor graduates at Rugby.

A total of 42 seniors will be getting their diplomas on May 25th.

We begin tonight with a miracle. A child - barely a year old - getting his first taste of the noisy world around him.
