Financial and Insurance Agents Meet

Posted: Updated:

Flooding issues don't just crop up for folks living along the Mouse, Missouri, and Red Rivers in North Dakota...

Communities like Cavalier, Beulah, Jamestown, and Valley City also have issues relating to flooding -- so changes to flood insurance laws is something insurance agents in the state need to stay on top of.

That was one area of discussion this week at the North Dakota convention of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors.

Kim Albert is the Minot president.

He says as Congress made moves to keep flood insurance affordable, agents needed to stay on top of the situation to help clients, who now more than ever, inquire about flood insurance.

(Kim Albert - Minot NAIFA President) "There are a lot of questions and a lot of change that has happened in the last few months and that act would have started in January to what ended up passing in March...there were many changes. It is amazing the amount of changes that happened in the last 60 days."

That convention wraps today in Minot at the Sleep Inn.
