High School Student Runs Marathon in Every State

Posted: Updated:

A little rain this morning didn't discourage runners from taking part in a Marathon held at United Tribes Technical College.

People of all ages took part in this year's Thunderbird Spring Run--some even came from out of state to participate.

For someone who is still in high school--this guy is very well-traveled.

As of today, Ryan Betz has run a half-marathon in all 50 states.

He is from Indianapolis, Indiana, and has spent all of high school career running around the country--all so he can give back to his community.

North Dakota was the final state Ryan had to run in to complete his list.

Once Ryan graduates, he will give all the money he earned through donations back to his high school--to help under privileged students afford to go to school.

"It's really taught me how proud I am to be an american"

He has already raised over 45 thousand dollars to date.

Ryan got first place today and says he is excited he finished his races in every state.
