It was very foggy and rainy today, but many people still came out to run for a good cause.
Mandan's Students Against Destructive Decisions, also known as SADD, held their "Above the Influence" 5K/10K walk, run this afternoon.
The non-competitive run is meant to raise awareness about underage drinking, drug abuse and the dangers of driving under the influence.
People of all ages came out for the event.. even some furry family members came to participate.
For some, this was their first time doing a 5K.
"I'm really excited to do it to raise awareness for the people that have been killed or hurt from destructive decisions," Kiana Haug said.
"I'm super excited just because you know I get to go out there and I get to see and talk to people and hopefully make an influence before that bad decision is made so we can try to make awareness to we can stop that behavior, "Renae Haug said.
All of the proceeds will go towards Mandan's SADD group for future educational events.
They also gave out many prizes like gift cards and even an iPad.
