Do you remember the TV quiz show Supermarket Sweep?
Well, an organization called the Minot Young Professionals partnered with both the Minot Area Homeless Coalition and Market Place foods, to turn that popular grocery store show into a fundraising event.
Eight young people raced against one another to help fill food pantries and soup kitchens.
The rules were just like you remember, and even though the competition grew heated, it was all in the name of charity.
(Jessica Henderson, Young Professionals Vice President) "One of our members was just looking for a fun way, and she said what about re-creating an old game show. She said a great way, have a lot of fun, and do good while we are at it."
Last year the Minot Young Professionals raised $4 thousand with this event, and they hope this year they will have more to donate those in need of food.
In addition, both had recently been released from state prison.
A two-year-old child was killed by a hit-and-run driver in Minot Sunday evening.
They ask if you have any information about the incident that you contact them at 852-0111.
