16 Year Old's Wish Comes True

Posted: Updated:

Today is not just any ordinary day.

It's World Wish Day...the anniversary of the first official wish granted by the Make a Wish Foundation.

But there's another reason to celebrate...

"They said I had cancer but they didn't know what kind and then May 8th they found out what kind of cancer I had and like ran me through everything that I was going to have to go through," says Logan Kostelecky.

Logan was diagnosed with germ cell tumor cancer.

He went through chemo and several other treatments throughout the past year.

Today though, cancer is far from his mind.

"Logan, I got some news for you."

"What's that?"

"Stand up young man."

"Young man, that is your RZR buddy!"

"That's awesome thank you guys!"

A wish is granted... to Logan...

"I'm kind of speechless. This is probably the coolest thing ever," says Logan

"It's great to give those kids a break and put a smile on their face and just bring a little joy into their lives," says Amy Binstock, Make a Wish Foundation.

Wishes come in all shapes and sizes...

This Polaris RZR is something Logan can enjoy for many healthy years to come.

"I feel good as ever," says Logan.

"That's what he has said since day one. He's had the most amazing, positive attitude through all of this. And they say that's a big part of beating the cancer," say John & Brenda Kostelecky, Logan's Parents.

"I'm going to run like three tanks of gas through this thing tonight," says Logan.

As he continues his journey toward beating cancer...

Today, there are only happy tears and hugs...

"Thank you Make a Wish for making everything come true," says Brenda.

And a smile that makes everything worthwhile.

"I just want to thank everybody ...to make this happen," says Logan.

Logan is almost done with his treatments...

Every three months for the next five years he'll have body scans and blood work done...

Then hopefully Logan will be cancer free.
