'Zombie' Home Resolution?

Posted: Updated:

They've come to be known as 'zombie homes'...

Homes in the valley that have gone untouched for nearly three years now since the Mouse River Flood of 2011.

Many of these homes are eye soars in neighborhoods that have seen many residents rebuild...

Many homes could be considered health hazards and dangerous to be in or around.

A group of residents has been pushing for the city to start to make a move on these homes.

Today, the issue was in front of the city Public Works and Safety Committee.

The hope of the residents is that a plan is established that will lead to action...

(Shaun Sipma - Minot Resident) "One big item that came out of our last meeting was the city attorney who just came on a few weeks ago, has made a commitment to take this on whole heartedly. To this point there really hasn't been much movement and she made the commitment to basically put the city on an accountability schedule so that these items are addressed."

More than 300 homes are thought to be problems throughout the valley as of today.
