Sawyer Baseball Team Back to Varsity Play

Posted: Updated:

After being without a varsity baseball team for several years, the Sawyer Flashes are back this year playing a full varsity schedule. 15 players are out for the team that co-ops with South Prairie school and under the direction of former Minot High player Ethan Stein. The Flashes have played 5 games this year and like any team that is re-building the Flashes immediate need is to get some depth on the mound.

Colton Lund, Junior:We're just working on getting better you know you learn the basics, fundamentals you know ground outs we work on our defense our hitting you know we got a young team so we're looking to get back into the region.

Jake Beardsley, Sophomore:We're young we got a lot of stuff to work on but I mean we're getting better everyday.

The Flashes next action will be tomorrow night when they play Bishop Ryan at Corbett Field beginning at 5:30.
