MSU Spring Football Scrimmage

Posted: Updated:

The Minot State football team wrapped up its spring football drills with its annual spring football game at Herb Parker stadium. 55 players were dressed for the game which serves as the foundation of what the team will build on for next year. Tonight's game took on added importance for head coach Tyler Hughes who recently accepted the head coaching position as he tries to evaluate his team and what its strengths and weaknesses are in his first few practices.

Casey Weinmann, Senior:We like him I mean with all the stuff that went on and I mean we couldn't ask for a better guy to come in. He's been here for two weeks and right now we just gotta get used to you know how he does things and all that good stuff but right now the whole team loves him and he's buying into us and we're buying into him and.

By the way the defense won tonight's game 44-28. The Beavers open their season September 6th at Sioux Falls.
