Protecting Your Home From Fire

Posted: Updated:
The Bismarck Fire Department is warning residents on the out skirts of town about fire danger.
In the coming weeks crews will be visiting homes that lie against undeveloped and vegetative areas.
Crews will be offering tips on how you can protect your home.
Battalion Chief Rob Carlson has some tips for homeowners that lie against wooded areas and ravines.

(Rob Carlson / Battalion Chief) Keeping your lawn mowed, keeping them watered, don't put firewood right next to your house, we do see people that stack it right next to the building. Keep an area around your house, so if there is a fire, if something does happen, it's not going to involve the house."
