FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., May 5, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- With $53.2 million in small business loans awarded through the Small Business Lending Fund, not only does Broward Bank of Commerce stand behind small businesses with capital but it also wants to help propel them forward by offering educational events designed to improve their bottom line.

As part of Small Business Week 2014, May 12th through 16th, Broward Bank of Commerce will offer a week-long series of educational sessions on subjects that include social media, financial planning and SBA lending.

Ranked among the top 10 community banks in the nation by the U.S. Treasury Department's Small Business Lending Fund, Broward Bank of Commerce knows what it takes for business owners to stay solvent and make a long-term contribution to the local and national economy.

"That's been our foundation, supporting and lending to small to medium sized businesses," said Keith Costello, President and CEO of Broward Bank of Commerce.  "This complimentary event series, covering a diverse array of topics delivered by experts in each particular industry, is meant to spark new ideas by providing small business owners with relevant material that they can take back to their businesses and leverage for continued growth."

First held in 1963, Small Business Week recognizes the important contributions small business owners make to the success of their communities and the country.
