Man Charged in Bismarck Bank Robbery

A 37-year-old Tuscan, Arizona man faces a felony theft charge after allegedly robbing Dakota Community Bank in Bismarck yesterday.

He made his first appearance in court this afternoon.

Macy Egeland has the story.

Police say the suspect fled on foot and got away with around $6,850.

Police and K-9 units searched the area to find him, then got a tip that someone had spotted him hiding in this dumpster off of West Broadway Avenue.

They arrested him around five o'clock Tuesday night after tracking his phone and finding his location.

In court today Judge Gail Hagerty posted his bond at $20,000.

Theft of property is a Class C felony with a maximum sentence of 5 years and a $10,000 fine.

Two others were also arrested in connection with the bank robbery.

One for felony drug charges and the other on a Stark County Warrant.
