Post Office Food Drive

Posted: Updated:

You may notice canned or boxed goods by neighbors mailboxes this Saturday you.

It's for the the Mail Carrier Food Drive from your local post office.

Minot postal workers and their families will travel around town on their normal routes to pick up the food.

They say their goal is 50 thousand pounds of food, and it's important they get it.

(Don Fennell, Postal Service Food Drive Coordinator) "We are heading into the Summer months, and the food pantries are low on supplies at this time of year. They do ok during the Thanksgiving and Christmas seasons, but Summer, people aren't really thinking about food pantries. Our food drive is really timely for them."

If you miss the Saturday drive, postal workers will continue non-perishable pick-up's through Monday.
