Amtrak Reroutes ND Service

Posted: Updated:

Amtrak passengers traveling from Fargo hoping to get off the train in Grand Forks, Devils Lake, or Rugby will be finishing their trips on a bus for the next four months.

Track upgrades mean the Empire Builder won't be making the trip through those cities when traveling westbound.

Instead, passengers will have to board a bus in Fargo for that final stretch to those locations.

The train will be taking a different track from Fargo to Minot through New Rockford during the summer months while upgrades are made.

Passengers hoping to board Amtrak in Grand Forks, Devils Lake, and Rugby to travel east will also be bussed to Minot during that time.

The repairs are expected to last through September 30.

Eastbound trains will not be effected.
