Bishop Ryan Appoints New Football Coach

Posted: Updated:

After four years with the Bishop Ryan Football program head coach Brad Borkhuis has been relieved of his post with the team.

Borkhuis will be replaced by former Minot State assistant Coach Zach Rudolph.

Rudolph was hired as a Physical Education teacher at the high school to replace head baseball coach Brent Nelson.

Bishop Ryan Athletic Director Bryan Kramer says the decision to go with Rudolph over Borkhuis is not performance based. It's simply school policy to award a staff member a coaching position.

Other than his head coaching position at Bishop Ryan Borkhuis was not employed by the school--giving Rudolph precedence.

Rudolph, a Minot State graduate, will also be the new head track coach at Ryan as well. A position he held in 2012 before moving to the collegiate coaching ranks.

Borkhuis

went 26 at 14 under the headset for the Lions and reached the Class Double A playoffs the last three seasons.
