UTTC Graduation

Posted: Updated:
107 graduates marched in to get their diplomas at United Tribes Technical College.

The graduation ceremony took place at UTTC Campus Friday afternoon.

The wise spirit singers banged ceremonial drums and sang for the grand entry, then followed with the Flag Song.

They were welcomed by interim college president Phil Baird.

Then, the American Indian Scholarship Fund President, Cheryl Crazy Bull, offered the keynote address.

She told the graduates they are modern day warriors with great responsibility to the future.

(Cheryl Crazy Bull/American Indian Scholarship Fund) "We've done a really good job of adapting our traditional ways to our contemporary lives. And you represent that for us. You are those warriors that represent how we have brought our traditional knowledge to our contemporary lives."

The students graduated with 27 different majors.

The largest certification degrees are in Welding and Heavy Equipment.

The largest associate of applied science degrees are in Elementary Education and Nursing.

Nine students also graduated with bachelors degrees in Elementary Education and Business Administration.
