Bismarck Officer Fires Gun at Suspect

A Bismarck police officer fires a gun after a suspect had first pointed a gun at the officer.

Police responded to the 2300 block of East Main Avenue shortly after one this morning.

A male caller reported being threatened by a man with a gun.

When police arrived they saw a man running from the area.

They eventually located him--and he pointed a gun at them.

One officer fired and missed the suspect.

He was later found hiding out under a car and was taken into custody.

No one was injured.

A firearm was located on scene and has been taken in as evidence.

Police say it's an ongoing investigation and if anyone heard or saw anything in the area should call 223-1212.
