Today, a Bismarck boy gets the ride of his life to take his mind off of his battle with cancer.
"The generosity of people, it's just mind blowing" says Tanner Ohlsen
This is Dash Ohlsen.. and today he's getting a special helicopter ride to lift his spirits.
Dash, his brother and father took off from the Bismarck executive airport for their special tour today.
"I don't know how many I heard Dash over the intercom say 'this is so cool'"
Members of Freedom Riders Bike Club requested a ride in a helicopter for 7 year-old Dash Ohlsen, to take his mind off of his battle with Leukemia--and Sanford AirMed said yes.
Every kid wants a ride in a helicopter." says Adam Parker
So the AirMed team prepared for takeoff.
"They took us around town, we got to see the river and the UMary school and a track meet. They flew over their school." says Taner
The flight was only about 15 minutes, but it is something that Dash will not easily forget.
"The smile on his face and how antsy he was, we haven't seen that in a while."
"It makes you choke up every time you think about it."
