Final Preparations Being Made for Oil Conference

Posted: Updated:

Final preparations are being made at the Bismarck exhibit hall expansion to get it ready for the Annual Williston Basin Petroleum Conference next week.

The North Dakota Petroleum Council stepped in to help at the Civic Center.

They knew the parking lot would not be complete in time for their outdoor oil field equipment.

So Ron Ness says they talked to Quality Mat Company, one of their vendors.

The company lays mats or pallets out in the oil field to put drilling rigs on.

They agreed to come in and mat the entire parking lot to have a mud free zone.

"This just turned out to be a pretty cool opportunity for a company to bring in what they sell at a time when we really were very worried about having all the wet, rainy weather. We would have had kind of a mess out in this parking lot. This is going to work out, it's just going to be beautiful. The oil guys are going to love it," says Ron Ness, President, ND Petroleum Council.

The mats were brought in by rail and laid out on Saturday.

The Oil Conference will run next week from the 20th to the 22nd.
