Designed by a small team of developers the Street Repairs app can identify the user's location by using the phones own GPS, enable the user to upload photos and a description, locate which local authority is responsible for the reported defect then compile a detailed report to send directly to the local authority in question.

Local authorities often rely on residents to report minor street-level faults. If the local authority doesn't know a fault exists, it can't fix it. But often the process for reporting faults is unclear time consuming and frustrating. Enter the Street Repairs app which will revolutionise the way communities and the general public interact with their local authorities.

Talking about the app Colin Mahoney director and founder of Street Repairs said "after listening to what the public wanted we designed this app to assist them in making community and road issues more transparent. Gone are the days where you would need to find the right department, convey your issue, take notes and details of the person you are speaking with and follow up with phone calls to ensure the reported defect has been repaired. This app will allow users to make a report in less than two minutes, send all data in real time to the appropriate authority whilst our backend systems will update the user on progress made by the authority".

If the user provide an email and mobile number they will kept up to date on progress via text and email alerts. Mr Mahoney continued "Using technology to promote clarity and transparency and encourage local authorities to engage with residents has always been at the heart of the Street Repairs ethos. With this app the public can now in essence become reporters for their own communities"

Users of the app can easily share their reported problems with friend's family. All reports from the Street Repairs app are published directly into the public domain including facebook and twitter. In the case of road users people can warn of any impending danger such as potholes, debris in the road, road sign issues, or even a broken street light.

Street Repairs has received extensive media coverage due to its intuitive design. Now with the addition of the Street Repairs app everybody can get involved on the go.
