Student Spotlight --- Harvey

Posted: Updated:

Time to meet another top graduate at a local high school in our Student Spotlight.

Tonight, we're in Harvey to meet Jerissa Brockel.

(Jerissa Brockel, Harvey High School Senior) "I think our teachers really care about us and as long as we put our effort into it like doing homework and preparing for tests, we really are preparing ourselves for the rest of our lives and the teachers react to that too. They help us if we ask questions and they're not harsh if we even say I don't get that. I think the teachers really care how we are preparing ourselves. My favorite is definitely the ag department whether it's ag business or ag mech or whatever. I'm the FFA president and I work in the ag department as coop and I work with the freshman ag class and I love everything about FFA and Mr. Anderson is our advisor. I am FFA president, co-president of student council, and am an officer in FCCLA. I'm big into all our activities, I like helping out and organizing things. I'm also in volleyball and have been the past four years. I'm going to college at Northwestern College in Iowa and I will be going into exercise science and am looking into physical therapy and could possibly end up at the doctorate level."

Congratulations to Jerissa Brockel, the valedictorian at Harvey High School.

Here's a list of the honor graduates at Harvey.

A total of 26 seniors will graduate on May 25th.

We begin tonight with a miracle. A child - barely a year old - getting his first taste of the noisy world around him.
