Happy Birthday Bismarck!

Posted: Updated:

The City celebrates its 142nd anniversary since its founding in 1872.

The Bismarck and State Historical Society mark the event with music from Bismarck kindergartners and the Elks at Camp Hancock.

Bismarck Historical Society Board Member Ann Vadnie grew up in Bismarck...

Her family has been here since the pioneer days.

She says she's seen the town grow in "leaps and and bounds" over the years.

"The thing that I've always liked about Bismarck is the friendly nature of a city that isn't too big, but isn't too small." says Ann Vadnie of the Board of Directors of the Bismarck Historical Society.

The Bismarck Historical Society started Founder's Day three years ago.

Bismarck will celebrate 150 years in 2022.
