The Federal Aviation Administration announced more than 17 million dollars for North Dakota airports today -- with more than half headed to Minot.
Eight-point-nine-six million dollars has been tapped to come to the Minot International Airport as a part of the terminal project now underway.
These funds will be used to start construction of the taxiway system for the jets.
Airport manager Andy Solsvig says the funds were lobbied for, and he says he's happy those efforts have paid off.
More funds are expected later this year to help finish out the taxiway and apron part of the project.
The new airport terminal in Minot should be open by the fall of next year.
