You may feel it takes you to another part of the world, or just around the state of North Dakota.
A new collection has arrived at the Taube Museum of Art.
What you will see of John Postovits's charcoal and chalk pastels will mix up real and imaginary.
Postovit has a background in Mathematics and Physics which influence his art.
Mostly though, the works from the North Dakota native are deeply influence by his travels around the world.
(Doug Pfliger, Gallery Manager, Taube Museum of Art) "In 'Blue Mosque' over there -- there is the flying wing-shaped thing. And he said 'you know, you look up in the sky and this is totally out of character for the area...' and he says right on there, 'It was a compositional device, but also to make you take a double take'..."
The Taube is able to show collections like Postovit's because of their cooperation with the North Dakota Art Gallery Association with support from the North Dakota council on the Arts.
They are open for viewing Tuesdays through Saturdays.
