Govs Have Depth as They Prepare for Legion A Season

Posted: Updated:
The Legion Baseball season kicks off this weekend and the Bismarck Govs are ready for a strong season.
Boasting a handful of veterans-- the Govs are going to be a tough out no matter who they play.

With all the talent Bismarck has to offer-- making the Govs team has never been more difficult.
Not only are dozens proven seniors returning from last year's team but three college players are returning to the ranks as well.
Not to mention the younger up and coming talent starting to make a name for themselves on the field.
Head coach Mike Skytland is excited to get his team on the field.

(Mike Skytland/Govs Head Coach) "Yeah I think we have a pretty good mix of guys with some experience and then some young guys with a lot of talent so we're really looking forward to being able to put a good team together."
(Jacob Brucker/Govs Infielder) "There's definitely a lot of competition right now either way we are going to have some good players sitting, and we know we have some good backups so that'll push us more to become the best team we can be and even when you're sitting we can still learn from the field and how to play."

Saint Mary's short stop Jacob Brucker is heading to Jamestown to play his baseball next year.
Brucker says he is going to use this Legion season to better his game and get himself ready for college baseball.
Learning from his coaches and fellow players as much as he can.

"Yeah I definitely want to push myself more, have my teammates push me, have my coaches teach me as much as I can before I get to the next level. Try and be coached as much as I can, and field," says Brucker.
