BisMarket Opens at Sertoma Park

Posted: Updated:

BisMarket, a farmers market at Sertoma Park opened for it's second season today.

About 7 venders came out to sell their products--from produce, to household supplies and baked goods.. there was something for everyone.

For the first market of the season, there was live music and a bouncy castle for the kids.

BisMarket will take place every Saturday and Tuesday at shelter 5 in Sertoma Park.

We asked people what they enjoyed most about local markets like this one.

"We have kids so it's a good place to meet other families with kids and like I said to teach your kids about the local food options that food doesn't always come from the grocery store, it comes from farmers who are growing it themselves."

"They tell you a little bit about where they produce them and it's just nice to know they are locally grown and get to know the people that grow them."

"It brings the people from the community out here especially with a great location and it's all local, it's all people from here that you can support, exchange goods, be able to buy different things, fresh things, and that's the best part about it."> says patrons of the farmers market

BisMarket runs from 10 to 1 on Saturdays, and from 3 to 6 on Tuesdays.
