Old Red Trail Rummage Sale

Posted: Updated:

It isn't your average rummage sale..

Today is the 3rd annual Old Red Trail Rummage sale.

This event started out as a way to promote the Old Ten Scenic Byway by holding 108 miles of garage sales.

Rummage sales took place in towns all across the Byway from Mandan all the way to Dickinson.

Other towns include New Salem, ELmont, and Glen Ullen.

Organizers say it shows the historical value of each town and that it's really starting to gain popularity.

"It's actually been very, very popular to the point where we actually participate ourselves here in Mandan now too with our own business so it's really kind of unique how all these communities have come together and stayed together over the long haul of putting together the scenic byway," Marlow Anderson said.

This event always takes place on the first Saturday in June.

New Salem alone had 29 listed sales today.
