Morton County Dive Team Removes Truck Out of Borden Harbor

TRANSCRIPT

It took the Morton County Dive Team about two and a half hours to remove the pick-up truck out of the water in Borden Harbor.

The pickup was fully submerged and it was raining when the Morton County Dive team attempted to pull it out.

A team of three divers and five support members worked together to locate the vehicle and attach a cable to the pickup's receiver before pulling it out.

Although there was no current, Dive Team Leader Kyle Kirchmeier says there was more damage to the vehicle than they originally thought including broken windows.

"This is zero visibility and the way the vehicle was positioned and the damage to it makes it a challenge. So anytime you do any of this everyone is a little different and you gotta be flexible and come up with a game plan as you're doing it," says Morton County Dive Team Leader Kyle Kirchmeier.

Kirchmeier says the dive members had to do a lot of the search by feel.
