Dollars for Scholars 5K

Posted: Updated:

Whether they were running, walking, or even pushing a stroller, residents of Minot came together today to support our area Dollars for Scholars program, while getting a work out at the same time.

This was Dollars for Scholars' second year hosting the "5K Fun Run"

to raise money for their scholarship program.

More than 40 runners of all ages gathered at Oak Park and took off this morning, and even received awards after the 3 mile trek.

The president of Dollars for Scholars feels that not many know of the organization in Minot, and that this was a way to raise awareness while bringing people together.

(Kathleen Henjum, President of Minot area Dollars for Scholars) "Very few people know about us, so this was a great idea for a way to get our name out, make people know about what we do, and I think it's important for the community to be out enjoying this great park, and a beautiful day in North Dakota in the summer."

araisedtoday will go to scholarships for students graduating from all three high schools in Minot.
