With rapid population expansion in North Dakota, crime has also gone up--and it's important to stay safe.
That's why Tracey Hawkins has traveled from Missouri to Minot to give some advice about staying safe in a changing environment.
(Tracey Hawkins, Safety Lady) "There are ways you can burglar-proof your own home on a budget and do it yourself. We are going to talk about safety on the road. Things you can do in an emergency situation when you're traveling. Basically I am giving you the tools and the information to live your life safely."
If you would like to hear Tracey's tips she will be at the Grand Hotel from 7 to 8 p.m. She will also provide pepper spray and other tools for purchase.
Chantelle Pepple says she hopes people will have a greater appreciation for what "this monster took from this world and my family."
