Showering Gifts on United Way

Posted: Updated:

Last year, Souris Valley United Way recognized a need among local shelters and pantries

This year's Community Shower, to collect personal care items for parents and babies, is coming to a close.

After previously collecting 10,000 diapers, they upped the goal this year to 15,000 diapers.

This afternoon Executive Director Pat Smith began picking up contributions from fifteen local business.

Campaign Coordinator Danielle Rued says last minute donations can be made Thursday at the mall between 11am and 6pm.

(Danielle Rued, Souris Valley United Way Campaign Coordinator) "Between Barnes and Noble and the Food Court, so people just kind of come by and bring their items with or they stop by Target and they bring it over to us then. It's just really great and the YP group is actually volunteering to sit there and help us out throughout the day."

All the products gathered will be dispersed to Minot pantries and shelters.
