Bismarck parents will soon be paying more for school lunches.
The Bismarck Public School Board approved a 25 cent increase for school lunches and a 15 cent increase for school breakfasts for the upcoming year.
Child Nutrition Coordinator Doug Joersz says school breakfast prices haven't been raised in the past six years and lunches haven't been raised in three years.
He says he proposed the increase in part because of food inflation and government regulations to provide more fruits, vegetables and whole grain products.
Labor costs and new kitchen equipment for Liberty Elementary and Legacy High contributed to the decision as well.
