Whether you're from Parshall or from across the country, you're invited to enjoy a centennial celebration.
This Saturday night they will light off fireworks in honor of the city's one hundred years.
Melinda Bolton has the story.
(Melinda Bolton) "To say there is a lot going on in Parshall this weekend would be an understatement. Dave Lindee wanted to make sure there was something for everyone... even the newest members of the community."
(Dave Lindee, Centennial Board Member) "This afternoon there will be old fashioned kid's activities... three legged races and a greased pig contest and kite flying..."
(Melinda Bolton) "Followed by a BBQ contest four years in the making..."
(Dave Lindee, Centennial Board Member) "I don't know how many of 'em are pros at this, but I know a couple of them are really, really good at what they do. All of that is donated, the food is free."
(Melinda Bolton) "So once you have had your fill of slow cooked goodness, Lindee encourages you dance in the street, literally."
(Dave Lindee, Centennial Board Member) "So we went out and found two really great bands; one from Fargo, the 40 Watt Band. And then we got Dirty Word - now I don't go to a lot of street dances, but apparently they are the band, if you wanna have a street dance in North Dakota, so we got 'em"
(Melinda Bolton) "And there will be no such thing as getting rained out. You can attend the prom of the decades Friday night, and wear your favorite styles from back in the day or head over the the VFW building to bid on hand made afghans or just see who you run into..."
(Jeanette Hoff, President Parshall Centennial Board) "The favorite part is just seeing everyone come back and being able to visit with every body. Meeting new faces and old faces... and just thecamaraderiee and the fellowship that we'regoing toa have."
(Melinda Bolton) "Now if you aren't interested in the events you can still sign up to win a brand new Chevrolet or Harley Davidson.
In Parshall, Melinda Bolton, KX News."
