The new year of college classes is still a couple of months away, but incoming freshmen were getting a taste of Minot State University today.
MSU was hosting its CONNECT Orientation.
The event introduces new students and their parents to many aspects of college life - from financial aid to parking passes.
Student Services Advisor Tammy Wolf says the staff members enjoy meeting the new students and helping them prepare for their big step into college life.
(Tammy Wolf, MSU Student Services Advisor) "Yeah, it's fun for us. I think some of the kids - students - are stressed out but by the end of the day I think they're full of knowledge and hopefully ready to go."
(McKenzie Kranz, MSU Freshman) "It's just really local, it's close to my house and I didn't want to go too far away but I am living in the dorms so I wanted to live in the dorms and get the college experience but still be close enough to home so I can do laundry at their house and get free food!"
(Tammy Wolf, MSU Student Services Advisor) "We love to get the students in and especially early in the summer to get their classes done and to just be done with everything and enjoy the rest of their summer."
The first day of classes at Minot State University this fall is August 25th.
