Classic Cars Medora Bound

Posted: Updated:
Some classic antiques are headed to Medora.

Members of the Pioneer Auto Club are driving these Model A and Model T cars from Mandan to Medora.

They have to hit the road early, traveling at only 30 mph--it ends up being an 8 hour drive.

In all about 30 cars will make the trip from Mandan to Medora.

As you can see the drivers and passengers even dress the part.

(Tom and Sherry Freidt / Pioneer Auto Club) "We are going to cook on the way on the manifolds of the cars and stop in Richardton and have lunch. We have manifold cookers set up right on the motors and we are going to cook our meals as we are driving."

Alan Sheppard drove this 1914 Model T car all the way from Fargo to Mandan to meet up with the car club.

(Alan Sheppard / Fargo Driver) "Everybody always stops and asks how fast you can go. They are so old that there is no odometer, but I made an interesting observation it's so slow that bugs hit the windshield and get up and fly away."

The Medora Classic Car show runs through Saturday.
