"Hot Sauce" Visiting Minot

Posted: Updated:

Philip Champion, better known as "Hot Sauce" has been well known in street basketball since 2009.

And next week, he will be making an appearance in the Magic City to put on a camp for local athletes.

The event will take place on the 28th at the MSU dome, and boys and girls from 1st to 12th grade are welcome to participate.

Friends and family are encouraged to attend the camp as well, and even learn a thing or two themselves.

"Hot Sauce" is sponsored by AND1, and has played basketball all over the world.

Ernest Bell recruited Champion, and says that if it's a success this year, it will grow in years to come.

(Ernest Bell, Local Coach for Youth Teams) "You know, these kids need somebody like that to enhance their dreams as well, you know, so, Hot Sauce, next year maybe Dwyane Wade, LeBron James, Allen Iverson, he knows all these people."

Again, the camp is June 28th from 1 - 4, and costs 25 dollars to participate.

It's almost here...The 2014-2015 school year is less than a month away, and districts around the region are trying to get a handle on just how many kids will come through the doors on that first day.
