Posted: Updated:

North Dakota continues to lead the nation in the lowest unemployment rate and steady business growth.

One woman is excited to be the new leader in the state's workforce agency .

Governor Jack Dalrymple has appointed Cheri Giesen the Executive Director of Job Service North Dakota.

Giesen is a former employee of Job Service but has been a supervisor at Basin Electric Power Cooperative since 2005.

She says she is honored to work with the Job Service partners during this time of economic growth in our state.

"I know working with some of the people I think there are wonderful things with working with unemployment insurance, labor market, definitely the workforce services training and it gets down to working with the citizens of North Dakota - improving salaries and working for the North Dakota citizens," says Cheri Giesen, Executive Director of Job Service North Dakota.

Giesen will begin leading Job Service in early July.
