New Clinic Groundbreaking

Posted: Updated:

$19 million dollars will be invested into a 19 acre lot on North Hill --- expanding healthcare options for the Magic City.

St. Alexius officials held a groundbreaking ceremony for the Minot Medical Center Plaza today.

The two story clinic will feature 40 primary care and 20 specialty care exam rooms and a same day surgical center.

It will be fully-equipped with diagnostic equipment, radiology and physical therapy.

St. Alexius President Gary Miller says when the clinic came to Minot seven years ago, it felt like a homecoming --- as he started his healthcare career three decades ago at St. Joseph's hospital in Minot.

(Gary P. Miller, St. Alexius President and CEO) "For me, it's actually a bit of a homecoming. It was a homecoming when we started our clinic here a number of years ago, and it will continue to be my second home as we look forward to our expansion, a new presence. What I'll call the next phase, it's not the end phase, but the next phase of our presence here in the Minot community."

The project is expected to be complete next summer.
