Rain Puts Damper on Softball Tournament

Posted: Updated:
The fields were empty, but the dugouts and parking lots were full of people.

Over 450 teams came from all over the United States to play, only to spend the day waiting for the weather to clear up.

"Trying to stay positive, hoping for the rain to go away, that's all." says team Silver Dollar

"We were supposed to play at seven, we don't know if we are going to play at 9 o'clock tonight, 10 o'clock tonight or maybe at 5 tomorrow morning.  We have no clue what's going on right now and everyone is in the same boat." says The Dream Team

"We understand players and fans are disapointed but today we literally lost thousands of dollars at the gates for people not coming out to watch these softball players perform.  You loose money in the silent auction and in t-shirt sales so we feel as bad if not worse than anybody when something like this happens." says Mike Wolf, Tournament Co-Director

Wolf says that on the bright side, they have an excellent track record.

Of the 38 other tournaments, only one has been completely canceled.
