Kids in the Bismarck/Mandan area are trying out a sport that's popularity is growing nation wide.
Lacrosse-- with a number of enthusiastic kids and coaches, players are hoping that the sport will catch on quickly.
The program calls themselves the Rattlers.
A group of former Lacrosse players are running camps trying to get more youth involved in the sport.
The popularity of Lacrosse is growing across the country, with more than 36,000 athletes now playing at the college level.
A higher scoring sport than hockey and soccer, with a physical style of play is enough to excite any athlete looking to try something new.
Rattler's head coach Shaun Werle says he is excited to get more kids playing the sport he has coursing through his veins.
"As things have evolved and we've talked to parents we're trying I guess to target the U13 kids, U15 kids and get them involved so we can build a program to go up into the older grades, but I guess that would be our target audiences."
