By Alicia Ewen

It has been almost two years since they first broke ground on the new MDU Resource Community Bowl.

Today representatives of the 8 million dollar renovation gathered to finally announce it's completion.

The new bowl features 81 thousand square feet of track surfacing, automatic lighting, and many more features.

But this time it's much more than a sporting venue.

Concerts are already scheduled to be held there as well.

The first will be the "Rock the Bowl" Concert featuring Kat Perkins and Jessie Veeder.

Todd Steinwand, Co-Chairman of the Protect Our Turf Campaign says that the title "Community Bowl" is very fitting for the new and improved new venue.

"It could have never been accomplished without the community itself getting behind it. And also the public and private part of that partnership was so important and that's what makes this community such a great place to live, work, and play." said Todd Steinwand, Co-Chairman  of the Protect Our Turf Campaign.

Rock the Bowl will be held on September 13th and tickets will go on sale tomorrow morning on
