Rodeo Workers Fight Weather

Posted: Updated:
Days of bad weather have been taking a toll on Mandan's Rodeo Days.

Event workers say rain this weekend caused a mud problem, making it difficult for trucks to get around the complex.

30 mile-per-hour winds made it so they could not set up sponsor banners around the arena.

Then on Monday, a large tent blew over, causing poles to twist and bend to the point that they were unusable.

However, one organizer says that fighting through bad weather at a rodeo is nothing new.

"Weather is always a consideration with rodeo, it's either hot, or it's dusty, or it's muddy, or it's windy, or it's cold, or it can be snowing.  Usually you just let the storm pass and keep on rodeoing."> says Johana Cravens with Mandan Rodeo days>

The 135th Mandan Rodeo Days is set to start on Wednesday at 5pm and lasts through the 4th.
