Program Teaches Teens How To Dress With Dignity

Posted: Updated:

This day and age, it's not hard to find teen fashionistas wearing the latest trends.

But a new program aims to start a new fashion revolution.

"I kind of like to take pieces from like different styles and kind of mix them. Kind of eclectic," says Lauren Clausnitzer, Future Fashion Stylist.

Lauren Clausnitzer knows her style.

But she's ready to take her natural expertise to a whole new level.

"I've always liked putting outfits together and shopping. It just seemed like a good fit for me," says Clausnitzer.

Lauren plans to be a part of a new character-based program called Reveal Your Dignity - where she'll learn how to become a junior fashion stylist.

"We're teaching them that the way they dress reveals their character and how to do that for their unique self. How to embrace and accentuate their body type and their coloring, and all that," says Kim Zubke, Image Consultant.

In this program-- Modesty is on trend.

While short shorts, see-through tank tops, and crop tops may be "in" right now - - that doesn't mean you have to throw your wardrobe out. Kim says there are ways to make the outfits a little more appropriate but she also reminds us to be more mindful on our next shopping spree.

"It's just knowledge for the next times you're shopping and if there are things that need to just go, it's a great time to do a clothing swap with other friends instead of completely getting rid of it or learning how to layer and mix and match different outfits," says Zubke.

Lauren says she wants to be a good role model...and dressed with dignity....for the younger generation.

"It's not so much about like the trends and like what's new. It's more about like making people feel beautiful and feel confident in themselves," says Clausnitzer.

"I think the best part of my job is to see how confidence completely transforms in a woman. We all have to put on clothes every single day and we might as well enjoy what we're putting on and know that we look good when we step out the door," says Zubke.

After all confidence never goes out of style.

Reveal Your Dignity starts August 16th at the University of Mary.

Registration fee: $279

If you're a young woman in high school or college and you're interested in this program, you can go to to register by the August 2nd deadline.
