CAT Reports A Record Number of Riders for April and May

Posted: Updated:

CAT Transit reports record ridership for the months of April and May.

In May over 14,000 riders used CAT Transit-- the highest monthly record in ten years.

A representative from Bis-Man Transit says the growth in population over the last few years has contributed to an increase in ridership.

She says summer can be a busy time of year for the CAT Bus.

"The summer is very directly correlated to the gas prices and, of course summer, Fourth of July time comes around, of course those gas prices continue to rise and we see that and so a lot of times that's when we see ridership increase," says Bis-Man Transit Marketing Director Jen Raab.

Right now CAT has 10 buses and has recently ordered a couple more.
