It's one of the hidden gems in central North Dakota but it's worth the trip to find it. Tonight Derek Hackett takes us to the Harvey Country Club for this week's Tee to Green.
"It's a serene Golf Course and unless you already know how to get there. It's tough to find..
It's just Northeast of Harvey North Dakota. The Harvey Country Club.
Shane Sagert/ Harvey Country Club General Manager: "It's one of those hidden gems that you won't expect in North Dakota. We have a big course out here, you have to cross the river 5 times... We have one of the hardest holes for a par 4 out here. A big dog leg left.
Derek Hackett/ Reporting: "That hole is the 7th, and if you manage to find this secluded 9 hole course you'll need navigate past the tough par 4."
Shane Sagert There is no way to make the green from here. You'll hit all trees and also, if you try to hit your driver you'll find yourself in the other fairway. You have to lay up with a 3 wood or a five wood and try to get on the green, with the wind against you from the south.
Derek Hackett: You're journey starts off the tee. Once you breach the dog leg, you're on easy street.
Shane Sagert: "Where I'm going to be at, I'll be from 170 to 180 yards out. When you play your own ball that's where you'll be at because it takes a lot to draw around that corner.
Derek Hackett: "When you reach the green-- you know where to go.
Shane Sagert: "Once you're on the green, it always goes towards the river so everyone knows it'll break towards the river. It's trying to get to the green is what's tough around here."
Derek Hackett: "A poised putt on the serene course will help you find your way to par..."
