As Bismarck continues to grow...so does the need for more parking.
A little over a year has gone by since construction first began on Bismarck's new parking ramp.
Construction of the 13 million dollar parking ramp on the corner of Thayer Avenue and Sixth Street began just over a year ago...and it's just about complete.
In the last week, the decorative panels were added to the outside, making it look almost like a building.
"You just don't see that, even in the big cities anymore. Other than that it's just a typical parking ramp. Holds approximately 500 cars. Other than that, we're almost done," says Kevin Siemieniewski, Comstock Construction Inc.
Next week Siemieniewski says they'll begin seeding for the exterior concrete work.
He says the ramp will be complete August 29.
What was previously Rides Used Cars on Airport Road is now Rides Auto Sales & Custom Accessories on Northstar Drive off of Highway 83.
It's a complete service and detail center carrying a full line of accessories.
At over 12,000 sq. feet, they say they have the largest showroom in the state, carrying anywhere between 15 and 20 classic cars.
"Come in, grab a hotdog, grab a can of Coke, grab some popcorn. Walk around, take a look. It's almost like a classic car museum," says Jay Braun, General Manager/Owner.
Rides also carries 130 pre-owned vehicles - all with a three month 3,000 mile warranty.
The boutique Brea in Mandan will soon be moving to Main Street, right next to Harvest Grill.
"It's a really huge deal. Plus the fact that we will have five times the space that we have now. We're really full where we're at and we'd like to bring in more items and more lines," says Pam Kostelecky, Manager, Brea.
Open in town for two years, they sell clothing and accessories for all ages and follow the trends.
They aim to open at their new location the first part of September.
Brea is open Thursday's 11 to 7 and Saturday's 10 to 4.
