Two new large cats are now calling the Roosevelt Park Zoo home.
Their names: Ramani and Marty.
These snow leopards are native to the mountains of Central and South Asia.
They are on a list of endangered of species, because there are only about 4 thousand to 65 hundred of them left in the world.
Since only about half of these cats in the wild reproduce, the Roosevelt Park Zoo has purchased a male and female in hopes the pair will mate in captivity.
(Becky Zahn Walcker) "We are trying to help send that conservation message, why we have these animals on exhibit.
And, why we are doing the breeding and stuff like that, is to help their overall history so that we can have them for future generations."
